"Working on the master plan for Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, we aimed to create not just a modern urban environment, but a space where architecture becomes a conduit between people and Kamchatka's unique landscape. We developed a project that does not oppose the city to nature, but creates a dialogue between them, shaping an environment worthy of the status of a unique natural territory of global significance," noted Anna Kulikova, Partner at FANTALIS Architects. The foundation of the project's planning structure consists of two loop trails—an "ecological trail" around Lake Kultuchnoye and the "Nikolskaya Hill" walking route. They unite historic streets and natural landmarks into a single architectural narrative, unlocking the city's tourist potential.
The central element of the project is the National Museum of Nature Conservation—a multifunctional complex with exhibition spaces, educational centers, and scientific laboratories. It uses advanced multimedia technologies to create an immersive experience.
The project provides for various functional zones: a restaurant with a panoramic view of the bay, the "Palace of Joy" for family leisure with a usable roof-amphitheater, a wake park, running and cycling paths, observation decks, and a boat station on Lake Kultuchnoye.
